Wild Rice Salad Recipe
Great for Potlucks too.

This Wild Rice Salad Recipe is sweet, slightly tart, crunchy and yet soft. It has a range of textures and flavours.

A Wild Rice recipe is loved by all ages and is great for family gathering or Potlucks.

Gather up all the necessary recipe ingredients and tools you will need to make this Wild Rice Salad.


  • 1/2 cup long grain rice
  • 1/2 cup wild rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth or water
  • 2 stalks celery, sliced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 can corn kernels
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries (craisins)
  • Salt and pepper

Dressing Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 Tbsp dark sesame oil

Bring the wild and white rice with the broth or water to a boil, then reduce heat and cover. Let simmer till the wild rice is tender and all liquid is absorbed. Fluff the wild rice mix with a fork and let cool.

Meanwhile drain the corn kernels.

Wash & dice up the green onions.

Put the cooled wild rice mix, corn, green onions, and celery in a medium sized bowl.

Add the dried cranberries (craisins) and slivered almonds.

Put all the dressing recipe ingredients into a small jar and shake to mix.

(You can also mix this dressing recipe by hand with a whisk and a small bowl)

Pour the dressing over the wild rice salad and mix well to combine all recipe ingredients.

Taste test - adjust with salt & pepper.

This wild rice salad keeps well and is even more flavourful the second day.
