Spring Kohlrabi Salad Recipe

This sweet Spring Kohlrabi Salad Recipe has it all. A sweet dressing over crunchy kohlrabi, crisp cucumber and sharp radishes, with a touch of onion. A truly delightful combination of spring flavours.

This Kohlrabi Salad is great as a side dish alongside any type of meal any time of year, not just Spring.

Although the recipe lists 10 ingredients - don't be alarmed - it goes together very quickly and the simple ingredients are pretty common.


Recipe Ingredients:

  • 2 medium kohlrabi
  • 1/2 English cucumber
  • 1/2 small red onion
  • 4 medium/large radishes
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) sour cream
  • 3 tbsp (45 ml) sugar
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) salt
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) celery seed
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) lemon juice.




Prepare and julienne the kohlrabi as shown here


Place the julienned kohlrabi in a medium sized bowl.


Wash, peel, halve lengthwise and thinly slice the 1/2 of English cucumber.

Add to the kohlrabi


Prepare and slice the radishes as shown here

Add to bowl


Thinly slice the 1/2 of the red onion as shown here.


Add the sugar, salt, celery seed and lemon juice.


Add the mayonnaise and sour cream.


Stir to blend all the Spring salad ingredients together.

Taste test and adjust to your preference.

Recipe Yield: This Spring Kohlrabi Salad serves 4.
