How to wash Endive

Endive is a great addition to salads but you need to know how to wash endive before you can use it. Endive also makes great little appetizer cups for any type of gathering.

Step 1

  1. Choose an endive with yellow tips. (Green tips are more bitter)
  2. Have a clean cutting board and sharp knife handy.

Step 2

  1. Trim off the butt end and discard.
  2. Remove the endive leaves and place them in a bowl of cold water to wash.

Step 3

  1. Swish them around and then remove them to a clean kitchen towel or a few layers of paper towels.

Step 4

  1. Pat them dry with more paper towels.
  2. They are now ready to use.
