How to Slice Radish
for a salad or garnish

Knowing how to slice radish will allow you to "dress up" your salads with these flavourful and colourful little gems.

Step 1

  1. Trim the top and bottom off each radish.

Step 2

  1. Place them in a colander and wash them thoroughly.

Step 3

  1. Rinse each radish off to remove any loose grit.

Step 4

  1. Place them on paper towels or clean toweling and pat them dry.

Step 5

  1. Place them on a clean cutting board.
  2. Have your sharp serrated knife handy.

Step 6

  1. Stand the radish upright and slice down through the center to make two halves.

Step 7

  1. Here are the two halves of one radish.

Step 8

  1. Lay one half, cut side down to begin the slice process.

Step 9

  1. Hold the radish firmly down to control each slice.
  2. Using your serrated knife, slice across the half in equal sized slices.

Step 10

  1. Continue to slice to the end.
  2. Repeat this process until you have as many slices as you will need.

Step 11

  1. If you want, you can cut each slice crosswise into quarters for smaller pieces.

Step 12

  1. Here are the radish slices decorating the top of a mixed salad.
