How to Prepare Grapes
for safe eating

How to prepare grapes for safe eating is really important but not difficult. Grapes need to be well washed, before beginning to prepare them, to remove dirt, dust, pollen and any residual chemical pesticides.

Step 1

  1. Before we can begin to prepare the grapes for consumption, we need to be sure they are clean.
  2. Hold up your bunch of grapes and remove any rotten, dried ones, as well as any other inedible loose parts.

Step 2

  1. Rinse the bunch or bunches of grapes under cold water to remove any loose particles.
  2. Also, rinse your hands, in case of any remaining dust.

Step 3

  1. To prepare them for eating, pull each grape away from the stem with a slight twisting motion, and drop them into a colander.
  2. Rinse the grapes again and sort through them for any blemished ones or the odd stem still attached.

Step 4

  1. Move the grapes onto a few layers of paper towels, always keeping an eye out for stems or bad grapes.

Step 5

  1. This is the last step to prepare your grapes. Pat the grapes dry with more paper towels.
  2. Now your grapes are ready to enjoy.

I received this from a friend of mine:

"Lately I've been going crazy over Grapes. I've recently discovered that Grapes have many health benefits that will help me stay young and active and can help me live longer.

During my research here's some
interesting facts I've un-covered:

- Grapes are rich in Res-vera-trol. Resvera is one of the powerful anti-oxidant, which has been found to play a protective role against cancers of colon and
prostate, coronary heart disease (CHD), degenerative nerve disease, Alzheimer's disease and viral/ fungal infections.

- Resvera reduces stroke risk by altering the molecular mechanisms in the blood vessels.

- They are an also good source of vitamin-C, vitamin A, vitamin K, carotenes, B-complex vitamins such as pyridoxine, riboflavin, and thiamin.

- In addition, the berries are very low in calories. 100 g of fresh grapes provides just 69 calories but zero cholesterol levels."

I think my friend pretty well said it all - grapes are good for you - so lets eat more of them.
