How to cut Cauliflower
the quick and easy way

How to cut cauliflower into florets quickly and easily for use in salads or platters, just to cook as a vegetable side dish is not difficult if you follow my step by step guide below.

Step 1

  1. Choose a head of cauliflower that is firm and is as white as possible, and free of blemishes.

Step 2

  1. After removing the cellophane, place the cauliflower on a clean cutting board.
  2. Using a sharp serrated knife, cut on an angle to remove most of the core.

Step 3

  1. Trim off any remaining leaves.

Step 4

  1. Check the bottom over for any blemishes and trim them off.

Step 5

  1. Check over the top for blemishes.

Step 6

  1. Cut off any dark spots.

Step 7

  1. Now, cutting on an angle, cut out the remaining core.

Step 8

  1. Now your cauliflower florets will practically fall out by themselves.

Step 9

  1. Cut the larger cauliflower florets in half or quarters, so that all the florets are more uniform in size.

Step 10

  1. Now you will have a nice pile of evenly sized cauliflower florets.

Step 11

  1. Place your cut cauliflower florets in a colander and rinse under cold water.
  2. Allow to drain or dry with paper towels.
