Cold Taco Salad Recipe

This really quick and easy cold taco salad recipe can be partially prepared the day before (by browning the hamburger) and then assembled when needed.

In fact, for busy people, it is always handy to have some browned hamburger in the frig or freezer to prepare weeknight meals in a hurry.

This simple salad recipe can be prepared quickly with minimal ingredients and be customized to your family's preferences.



Cold Taco-Salad Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 head lettuce - shredded
  • 1 large Tomato - sliced or diced
  • 1 large green bell pepper - diced
  • 2 cups (480 ml) Cheddar cheese -shredded or grated
  • 1 lb (450 gr) ground Beef - cooked & cooled
  • 8 ounces ((240 ml) guacamole
  • 1 bag Tortilla Chips
  • 1 small onion, chopped



Method:

1. Layer all the ingredients (in any order you wish) on a large platter. (Usually meat on the bottom, over the lettuce and the guacamole and cheese on top)

2. Serve the chips alongside.

Yield serves 4

Note:

1. You can substitute sour cream for the guacamole.

2. This cold taco salad recipe is a healthy and nutritious alternative to a hot meal on a summer day - not just an appetizer.
