Your Basic Tossed Salad Recipe is very easy to prepare and can be as simple as just 3 ingredients. The red leaf lettuce provides a chewiness, the tomatoes provide sweetness and the cucumber provides crunchiness. I choose to top mine off with Greek Tzatziki Dressing. |

Assemble all the ingredients and get your cutting board, kitchen knife and a medium sized bowl. |

Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes. Add these to the bowl. You can also use grape tomatoes or even a large diced tomato for a basic tossed salad. For a picture tutorial on how to dice a tomato - click here |

Next, you will need about 1/3 of an English cucumber or 1/2 of a regular salad cucumber. Make sure it is washed and dry. Cut it in half lengthwise and then cut thin slices for your basic tossed salad. Add these to the bowl. |

Now your basic tossed salad is complete. Use your hands or tongs to toss the ingredients. |
