How to make Boston Lettuce Cups
for your Holiday Entertaining

This is the new rage for appetizers - learn how to make Boston Lettuce Cups for the Holidays and show your guests that you are up to date.

Just follow the easy picture tutorial below and you will have these Boston Cups mastered in no time.

Step 1

  1. Remove and discard any damaged leaves.

Step 2

  1. Remove however many leaves from the head of Boston Lettuce, that you will be using for cups and submerge them in a sink or bowl of cold water

Step 3

  1. After gently swishing them around, remove them to a kitchen towel or paper towels
  2. Pat the Boston cups dry with paper towels.

Step 4

  1. Arrange the Boston cups on a plate or platter with the sides up.

Step 5

  1. Place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each cup.
  2. Here I alternated the fillings between a bean salad and a neptune salad, for a total of 6 cups as a side dish for 2 people.

Step 6

  1. If you use the small inner leaves - you get tiny little cups that make perfect h'or d'oeuvres.
  2. These simply have a small piece of crab meat with a strip of green onion for garnish.

Step 7

  1. Leave any remaining leaves attached to the Boston root ball - wrap it in damp paper towels and refrigerate.
